Calm after the deadline storm!
Jan 7th
Got to my desk early today and was at a very creative mood – Was about to burn more DVD catalog’s and I got a call that they didn’t need anymore!
I have to post the design of the CD it’s pretty simple but I like it – nice and clean!
I really like the sense of digital catalogs now after creating this – officially this is the 2nd digital catalog I have published for them, I am digging it now! I still think people like to have the PRINTED version.
So what is it? Digital or Traditional (PRINT) Let me blog about that later on today. First let me head over run the Website Analytic Reports and see if the 2010 International CES got of a good start!
The Deadline is now Dead!
Jan 6th
We pushed it as much as we could and we only ended up with 30 DVD’s! This is what I expected since we had so many hitches and with only 4 sets of hands working on 100 tasks = Impossible!
Well the good part is I get to do more edits on it and get it going for tomorrow! MICROBOARD is not finally making its worth and working like a charm!
Today was a really hectic day…wait…what day is it?
Just Checking In – Desk – Deadline Day
Jan 6th
It ‘s like 9:45am and I just got to my desk to get this done – Early morning rush! Drove to pick up the blank DVDs and Ink Cartridge for the MICROBOARD Publisher – then drove down like 30miles to pick up some of the sales team’s business cards and stuck in LA traffic towards my office. (I still made it to type up this blog before everything else)
We have to re-calibrate this MICROBOARD again before we can even get everything going! 200 DVD’s is impossible at this point – Deadline is set in 2 hours (is that possible?)
My assistant Mark is now working on the prep and I am once again multitasking – doing a 2nd run through and minor edits to the catalog and designing a simple DVD cover.
Let’s get this done and let’s see where it takes us!
Closing the Catalog Day!
Jan 5th
Well today is the closing the catalog day for me and my assistant! If we can do it! (I know we can – but I have a feeling there are other obstacles my other teammates have in store for me to do)
Aside from trying to do a final run through and doing a preflight check on the catalog file – I need to make sure this MICROBARD publisher is working – if not I will have to make a run to office depot and make sure I find a CD/DVD printer then I have to do a single burn (that would be fun wouldn’t it?) 200 CD/DVD burns (3minute burns) Wow! I don’t want to even think about the hours I need to get that done!
Well let me get back to work and end this blog for now and let’s see what tomorrow holds!
5th Day of the Year and everything is still fine!
What a Manic Monday!
Jan 4th
I have to say today was a very hectic day! Being gone really does put a toll! So much stuff to do, designing the site, compiling the catalog, packaging design approvals – you name it! I got it!
We are now trying to see if we can do the catalogs for CES 2010 in CD/DVD format – This would be a good idea! If I get to find our DISC PUBLISHER by MICROBOARDS
I need to get this CATALOG going and I have to run a analytics report on the site as well. Not to mention the photos I have to re-take for both the website and the catalog – Well the catalog will only take me a few hours, for the website I think it will take me and my team at least a few weeks to get it really going! (SAD)
Well for today Monday is done! Tomorrow will even get crazier…Well as I said 2010 will be a good year, so bring in the craziness (the good crazy that is)
Leaving Las Vegas – Phew!
Jan 3rd
Wow! Finally headed back home! My own bed! 3 Weeks for being gone and just traveling everywhere is just exhausting but fun! It’s a Sunday and I know when I get home I will be so tired to do anything and I know tomorrow is a Monday and it is catalog crunch time for the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2010 – guess where? Yes! Las Vegas! – AGAIN!
Things to do:
1. Get the catalog done!
2. Try and get out of coming back to Las Vegas for the show (note to self: make sure you get all the necessary paperwork done for everyone else)
OK! Time to get my GOING HOME mode on!
Blog 2 – Day 2 of 2010 – Las Vegas
Jan 2nd
Wow! I never imagined being in Las Vegas for like 2 weeks back and forth! Well I did it, 2 weeks of In and Out of Las Vegas! Today is the last day and the family has left! Last group leaving today and headed out to the airport to drop them off!
Tonight is alone time with the wifey and BLUEMAN GROUP show! R&R is coming! Then Monday comes and it’s back to crunch time!
Well just wanted to share my 2cents of the day!
Happy New Year! Welcome to 2010

What are you worth? Think twice…
Nov 21st
Wow! I just had to go and write about this topic. Pricing! A biggest problem in our industry of Photography – we all know what we are worth or do we? I was just browsing around other fellow shooters and boy was I ever surprised.
I have seen photographers advertising wedding photography services as low as $799 for 2 photographers and with editing services, I mean really? Are you serious? I also checked out there website, this photographers are really good, some OK but most of them have good work in there portfolios. It is so sad to see how low they put there selves out there.
Only 2 major things that make this happen, either they are hurting and not able to market themselves or they just want to be greedy and do the LB (Low Ball) game. Either way it’s is just not healthy for the industry nor for themselves.
I am sure there are a lot of blogs writing about this issue but I just had to voice out my issue. Just now I have seen portrait sessions for $140 with free prints…..WOW! seriously are this GWC’s or are this real pro’s either way it just killing our market and image as well.
We can always say “You get what you pay for”
Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto
Nov 15th
What a fight! The highly anticipated fight came to Las Vegas November 14, 2009 and I had to make sure I saw this fight. With all the hype HBO has been showing with there24/7 Pacquiao vs Cotto series, I had to make sure I was there for the 12 rounds of pure hard pound for pound boxing and boy did I get my moneys worth!
It was a great fight from round 1 to the last 55 seconds of round 12, from round 1 I was thinking that Cotto did really train hard and was ready for the battle but then everything changed after the 3rd round when Cotto got hit by a hard right hander by PACMAN, that was when I said, this is it, it’s going to be a really messy fight.
After round 3 it was clear that Cotto was not taking in the punches, and he was not throwing the right punches that should have landed. Round 7-Up Cotto started to move around and avoid the PACMAN and we then all knew this wasn’t good, finally round 12 came and down 55 seconds, referee stopped the fight and then PACMAN made history once again.
Overall it was a really good fight, Manny and Miguel did there best and the one that tried harder prevailed, but we all have to give it up to Miguel Cotto for really hanging in there and being a fighter that he really is.
So now it is time to wait for the Mayweather fight! This once again will be a very challenging fight for Manny Pacquiao!
